Fiber Details:

  • Wildflowers is a single strand hand-dyed cotton offered by The CARON Collection
  • 324 variegated colors
  • Has a matte finish
  • One ply is between a #8 and #12 pearl cotton in weight
  • 36 yards per skein
  • Made in USA

Tips and Tricks:

Since Wildflowers is a single-strand cotton, you will always get a tweedy effect if you stitch with multiple plies in your needle since the colors will not match from one strand to the next.

For a lacy effect, try one strand on 18 mesh. This can be particularly striking on a handpainted canvas.

The CARON Collection includes hand dyed variegated threads that come in two different weights of cotton (Watercolours® and Wildflowers®); and in Waterlilies® , a 12 ply silk, and Impressions®, a 50% wool, 50% silk. The colors coordinate across all four lines.

Recommended Use:

18 mesh use two strands

13 mesh use three strands
