Tips and Tricks:

Strand the thread: Take all the strands apart and put them back together before threading your needle; this allows the silk to lie flatter and provides better coverage.

Use shorter lengths: Silk can be delicate; use lengths of about 18 inches to prevent the thread from fraying or losing its shine as it passes through the canvas.

Dye lots: Because Dinky Dyes are hand-dyed, ensure you purchase enough strands from the same dye lot to complete your project, as colors can vary between batches. 

Recommended Use:

13 mesh use 6 strands of Dinky Dyes silk floss for full coverage, providing the thickness needed for the larger holes. If you want less coverage or a finer look, you can use fewer strands (4 minimum), but 6 is the standard recommendation for this mesh size to properly fill the squares

18 mesh  use 2 to 4 strands of Dinky Dyes silk floss depending on your desired coverage and stitch type. Many stitchers prefer 2-3 for tent stitch and 4 for full coverage.  Always test on your canvas first to achieve the desired look.
