Join us to learn how to finish a simple round ornament with a master of finishing, Lita. Lita is an amazing finisher.   In this class you will learn:

  • The supplies that are needed to finish a flat or padded ornament (Mat board, batting, muslin, cording, needle, thread and pins.
  • How to trim your canvas in preparation for finishing
  • How to measure and cut your board, batting and backing fabric
  • How to create cording. 
  • How to assemble your front “cookie” and the back “cookie”
  • How to Lace
  • How to attach the cookies and sew on the cording, including creation of a loop to hang it with 

This workshop will provide step-by-step instruction to start you on your finishing adventure.  

Class size is limited to 10 participants per session.  Two sessions are offered each day, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Skill Level: Beginner finishing
Skill Details: Basic sewing skills are helpful 
Materials Provided: mat board, batting, muslin, needle, pins, thread
Requirements: Students should bring stitched and blocked 4” round, thread for making cording, fabric that compliments your canvas, and lighting/magnification, if needed.
